The Great British Exchange started 8 years ago with two goals in mind…

1 To service growing British companies and help them develop and sell their products into retail.

2 To service the retail sector by bringing exciting newness, localism and unique products and experiences to their main ranges in store. 

Since then, we have generated an amazing £100m worth of orders for small businesses, shipped 3 million boxes, developed an active network of 20,000 British brands and managed 3,000 pop-up events. We specialise in bringing newness and localism to the high street and we are responsible for John Lewis’ hugely successful regionally sourced pop-ups in stores up and down the country. We are known for in-store experiences and meet the maker events, which have been designed to re-engage disenchanted shoppers.

A call has gone out to us from top retailers, including John Lewis and Boots, who are on the hunt for the newest British made gifts to stock their shelves. 

Our team of sourcing experts have been tasked with finding the most innovative product ranges from small independent businesses and artisan producers for major British retailers and WE NEED YOU to help us fly the flag for small brands! 

We want to hear from British brands that have something a bit different to offer the gifting market. From unusual personalised gifts, to small batch locally made homewares – and everything in between – the search is now on for the very best of British gifting.

In addition to this, brands with exciting and unusual new gift ranges could get involved with a unique opportunity to supply some of the biggest names on the high street this Christmas. Demand for British made products and unusual gifts has never been higher and this Christmas will offer an unprecedented opportunity for the makers of exceptional British products to boost their sales.

Successful brands and products will be sold in John Lewis’ Christmas Emporiums in selected stores, including its flagship Oxford Street store and the prestigious Peter Jones store in Sloane Square. Our Christmas emporiums will run for 8 weeks in the lead up to Christmas and consist of multiple small businesses showcasing their products in a market stall set-up which take over a huge area of the store. We are creating a festive pop-up event like no other and bringing lots of small businesses under one roof to encourage shoppers to shop small and think differently this year.
